I voted that Ace Young would get voted off last week...but i dont see my name, but i also voted kellie pickler too so do you not count it if someone votes for two to go?

umm, to get your name mentioned up at the top you can only vote for one person. but even if you vote for two you can still get half a point for the week overall. so its still up to you.

I think Katharine and Kellie will be in the bottom--with Katharine going. Katharine pulled an Ayla and Lisa--tried a song she didn't have the talent to take on. And she was once in the bottom, so . . . Maybe this is the week for her to go. I think Kellie has more charisma, and that could keep her around another week--but . . . If she doesn't "raise the bar" as Paula observed, she won't go much further.

I'm not the biggest Chris fan, but at this point I can't see who is consitantly doing well enough to win it all. But it's certainly not over yet.

I see a lot of people picked Paris to go. @_X She did pretty good--certainly compared to most of the other lot. ^^''

i can't believe the firsy comment i made didn't show up. i poo, well anyway i gist : kellie's been messin up too much to stick around, i think America likes McPhee too much to see her go and kellie's been picking some raunchy songs and subpar singing. Coming out like she doesn't deserve to be there and then telling everyone that even she thinks she messed up doesn't convince the rest of us to let her stay.

Chris has been stepping out of his rocker box so i'm glad to see him making some improvement not only in his singing but his over all style.

And that's what makes me the maddest about Paris. People say she would have made it on her own but that still doesn't change the fact that she's in the competition and she can sing. The best singer should win not just the person who has the best son story.

Ok, hopefully this one will make it haha

I would be very surprised if Kellie were to be the one to go; after all, she sang horribly last week and wasn't even in the bottom three.

Paris might go; honestly, I don't see her winning this competition (and I would be annoyed if she did, with her family being in the business). However, Chris sang a slow song again, which his fans seemed to dislike last week. Katharine and Taylor were...okay. Elliot sang wonderfully but he doesn't have the charisma. Somebody needs to tell him to sing the sunset. ;)

Tough decision...but I'm predicting Paris to go.

This is the most difficult Idol ever.

Does it matter what a contestant's background is, as long as they meet the eligibility requirements? Take it out on AI producers not Paris in that case.

I guess I missed/forgot what Paris's connection to the music industry is/was, but if true, she certainly isn't the first contestant with ties to the business. Nikko Smith comes to mind, and I'll be there are others.

And isn't being in a band, having played countless gigs, such as Taylor or Chris, even more of an "unfair advantage?" Same for last year's runner up. Those people have experience performing in public and know how to work a stage better.

Lisa Tucker, IIRC, had a lot of experience singing in various venues. In the end it didn't pay off--she lacked the "IT" factor that was so lavishly praised on her earlier in the competition.

As long as someone is selected to the competition--barring deception--let them sing. They didn't do anything wrong. ^^'

Well, Nikko Smith was/is baseball great Ozzie Smith's son, and yes, Taylor, Chris, and even Will were/are in their own bands. It is logical that someone with a talent for music would form a band. I was speaking of Paris in regards to the fact that her family was/are in Sounds of Blackness; Paris herself toured with them when she was little. I have been listening to their albums for years, myself. I have never heard of the others.

What I meant was, that yes, some other people have been in bands, and Lisa was in The Lion King, but that doesn't necessarily mean they have close connections to cutting a record. (The object of Idol was to take someone who wouldn't necessarily have another chance to make a hit, and make one.) Paris had a great chance from the beginning of her life.

I am aware that Paris's auditioning was within the rules of AI; I'm simply stating an opinion, that I would rather see someone win who wouldn't have had a good chance otherwise.

"This musical reality series follows three judges, Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson (II), and Paula Abdul, along with host Ryan Seacrest around the United States in search of the next American Idol, a pop star that truly shines above all the rest. With help from the viewers, they will decide from thousands of participants who will walk away with a record deal and the fame and fortune that is sure to come along with it."

it doesnt say anything about giving people a chance who wouldnt necessarily have one. almost every single contestant on this years american idol has had some sort of break in the business. like i said a couple of weeks ago ace was on the show half and half SINGING and could have had plenty of opportunity to get a record deal from those connections. unfortunately, just like american idol he didnt make the cut. cos he wasnt good enough. people should not be penalized for what they have or dont have. if you're basing your votes on people who lack some sort of connection to the biz or have some sob story then you're voting incorrectly.

It's my opinion that before/outside of AI, Paris had a better chance of scoring a record deal than, say, yes, Ace. Singing on a sitcom isn't quite the same as having your family in the Sounds of Blackness.

It's simply an opinion, and while I think she is talented, she's not my favorite, regardless of that opinion, or her family's musical history.

Paris' grandmother is famous in certain circles. Are Paris' original audition, Randy pulled the grandmother aside and referred to her has "One of the greatest singers in the known world." If having a judge favor you isn't an unfair advantage, I don't know what is.

*hates Paris*

True, but.. Then the judges gave Lisa Tucker a big-ol' Stamp-of-Approval too (not that she did anything with it). And Katharine has been repeatedly called "A Star" and "In another league." So there's always favoritism. Of course, if the contestant doesn't live up to it, it can be a jinx, which is one reason I think Katharine's in trouble.
